Amsterdam Fringe Award Winners Ian Bok and Maarten Heijmans will have you laughing out loud during this innovative show. Based on legend that has been passed down since the fifth dynasty of the Fuong Keee family, the Crying Cherry were thieves who engaged in the trickery, circus skills and theatre. Subverting Western stereotypes of geishas and samurai, by incorporating martial arts, mime and comedy, this energetic satire is utterly captivating.
The two performers' inimitable style takes us through the legend of the crying cherry. Using the well known lagnuage of jibberish and backed by strong gymnastics and martial arts, this is one show not to be missed.
“This pitch-perfect duo does more with a banana and a gymnastics mat in one hour than some Broadway musicals do with a lavish set in three.” Fringe Review
