What are we looking for?
Purpose of Role
To manage day-to-day bookkeeping, production accounting and accountancy requirements for our productions, including maintaining purchase and sales ledger, completing reconciliations and providing accurate financial reports.
Responsibilities
Sales & Purchase Ledger
Raising sales invoices, matching remittances and completing credit control
Receiving, logging and securing authorisation for purchase invoices
Reviewing and recording venue settlements
Setting-up bank payments
Dealing with queries, ensuring a prompt and professional response
Reconciliations
Completing reconciliations for bank transactions, credit cards and petty cash
Completing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Completing reconciliations of box office income and other income
Payroll & Pensions
Compiling and processing payroll, generating payslips and responding to enquiries from employees
Filing pension contributions with pension providers and submitting schedules for payment
Maintaining PAYE/NIC and pension obligations
Reporting
Ensuring all income and expenditure is recorded correctly, particularly with reference to budgets, VAT and Theatre Tax Relief
Preparing financial reports
Drafting royalty statements, capital/profit return calculations, venue settlements and VAT returns
Other
Completing work in accordance with agreed financial policies and procedures
Completing a programme of continuing professional development and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge in areas of responsibility
Undertaking any other duties as may be reasonably required
Qualifications & Experience
High standard of general education, with an excellent level of numeracy and written/verbal communication skills
Ideally, a bookkeeping or accountancy qualification (or part qualification)
At least 2 years’ experience of working as a bookkeeper or production accountant or with responsibility for day-to-day bookkeeping
An understanding of bookkeeping best practices and double-entry bookkeeping
Ideally, an understanding of SOLT and UK Theatre collective agreements
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel)
A working knowledge QuickBooks Online
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Capabilities and Characteristics

Able to plan, manage and complete a busy workload to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy

What can you expect from the role?
Salary
circa £30,000 dependent on experience

Working Conditions
The position will be based at our head office, currently in Mayfair, London. Flexibility for some home working
